Hog Roast Tarland Brings St Patrick’s Day To Scotland!

St. Patrick’s Day, while traditionally an Irish celebration, has transcended borders to become a global phenomenon, and Scotland is no exception. This vibrant holiday, filled with parades, dancing, and of course, plenty of Guinness, has found a warm welcome among Scots, many of whom proudly trace their ancestry back to the Emerald Isles.

This year, the festivities reached new heights as Hog Roast Tarland was called upon to cater for a St. Patrick’s Day event nearby. Organised by Ciaran, the gathering brought together 350 members of the community to honour their Irish heritage with music, merriment, and mouth-watering cuisine.

Hog Roast TarlandUnder the guidance of our catering manager Steve, the Hog Roast Tarland team crafted a menu that would tantalise taste buds and leave guests craving more. The event kicked off with a delightful array of canapés, featuring mini quiches, gourmet sausages, chicken liver parfait, mini pizzas, and smoked Scottish salmon—perfect bites to whet the appetite for the feast to come.

For the main course, guests were treated to a selection of delectable dishes, including whole roasted sirloin of beef brushed with mustard and doused in red wine gravy, juicy handmade 6oz beef burgers, and flavourful grilled vegetable and halloumi skewers with tzatziki dip and flatbreads. Accompanied by buttered new potatoes, coleslaw, and farm-fresh salads, the meal offered a tantalising variety of flavours and textures for guests to savour.

And what’s a celebration without something to satisfy those sweet tooth cravings? The meal concluded with an indulgent dessert spread of profiteroles and fresh fruit salad, a delightful finale to an unforgettable feast.

While this may not have been a traditional St. Patrick’s Day spread, it certainly captured the spirit of the holiday with its hearty and flavourful offerings. As guests revelled in the music, atmosphere, and delicious food, it was clear that Hog Roast Tarland had delivered an experience to remember.

As St. Patrick’s Day continues to evolve into a global celebration, events like these serve as an important reminder of the enduring influence of Irish culture and the power of food to bring communities together in joyous celebration.
