Another Epic Burns Night Supper Served By Hog Roast Cumbernauld
Hog roasts might not be the traditional Burns Night supper, but they sure are tasty! And with around 44% of Scots proclaiming to hate haggis (yes, even though it’s our national dish), a lot of people have pulled away from the usual feast of haggis, neeps and tatties.
Nowadays, Scots are instead choosing to be a tad more adventurous with their meals, and this year, many opted to celebrate the best-loved poet, lyricist and national treasure, Rabbie Burns, with one of Hog Roast Cumbernauld’s stunning menu plans!
As always, our team was delighted to take part in the festivities, and our catering manager, Steve, did a fantastic job catering for a range of unique events in the days leading up to January 25th.
One Burns Night celebration we attended was hosted by small business owner Marcus. Every year he organises a Burns supper for his staff, which has proven a great way to build new friendships and solidify old ones; as such, everyone looks forward to this time of year.
On a typical year, Marcus will cook and serve the food himself, but this year he decided to call in the big guns: Hog Roast Cumbernauld. With our team helping him out by taking over all of the catering responsibilities, Marcus’s only concern was having fun on the night!
Deviating from the standard Burns Night menu, Marcus had asked us to serve garlic and rosemary-studded lamb with mint sauce, grilled vegetable and halloumi kebabs and a choice of sides, which consisted of fresh and colourful salad, coleslaw and buttered new potatoes. We also prepared smoked Scottish salmon, mini fish and chips and mini quiche appetisers, which went down a storm.
Marcus and his staff were completely blown away by the entire menu that Hog Roast Cumbernauld presented them with. They were especially amazed by the fresh flavours, the stunning presentation and the sheer variety of food on offer, which effortlessly catered to everyone’s tastes. Much to Marcus’s delight, our team also took care of cleaning up the leftovers and associated mess after the meal, which was another weight off his shoulders.
