Happy New Year From Hog Roast Livingston!

Happy New Year from all of us here at Hog Roast Livingston, and best wishes for 2023 – we hope it’s a good one! After a busy few weeks, our team has enjoyed a well-deserved rest, so now we’re back to feeling refreshed and ready to tackle another year full of exciting bookings!

Hog Roast LivingstonKickstarting this brand new year, our team headed over to Alan’s house for his annual first-footing celebration. Since we get an extra day’s bank holiday here in Scotland, Alan likes to keep the Hogmanay celebrations going by hosting a get-together every year on the 1st of January for all of his family and friends.

This famously laid-back gathering is a great way for Alan and his loved ones to recover from a wild night of partying and drinking copious amounts of booze, and, in true Scottish fashion, everyone always brings something with them to the party. From loaves of bread and tins of shortbread to literal lumps of coal, Alan’s guests fully embrace the first-footing tradition!

While Alan usually goes to great lengths to lay out a spread for everyone, he decided to do things a little bit differently this year by getting Hog Roast Livingston involved. With our team on hand to take care of the cooking and clearing up after his 50-odd guests, Alan was able to focus his attention on the important stuff: enjoying himself!

Hog Roast LivingstonOur catering manager, Steve, had lots of fun catering for this relaxed and informal event. He and the team arrived at the client’s home, and in no time at all, they had set up the HogMaster and begun roasting a whole pig over real flames. Completing the buffet, Hog Roast Livingston prepared sage and onion stuffing, applesauce, coleslaw, salad options and mixed fries, as well as grilled veggie skewers for the handful of non-meat-eaters. They also prepared a grazing table of sweet and savoury snacks for the guests to munch on throughout the celebration.

Alan and his guests were over the moon with the banquet our team prepared, which helped to soak up the previous night’s drink and put them back in the party spirit! It wasn’t long before everyone was huddled together, digging into Hog Roast Livingston’s sensational scran and singing along to folk songs. What a brilliant way to start 2023!
