Christie and Joe’s Baby Shower Feast: A Hog Roast Arbroath Celebration to Remember!

Is there anything more exciting than welcoming a new baby into the family? The answer is an obvious no! From the initial pregnancy announcement to the gender reveal, every step is a chance to celebrate, and no event is more anticipated than the baby shower.

For first-time parents Christie and Joe, who are counting down the days until the arrival of their baby girl, hosting a memorable baby shower was at the top of their to-do list. And we at Hog Roast Arbroath were lucky enough to be a part of the fun.

While their guest list of 25 might sound small, feeding that many people is no easy task – especially when you want everyone to have an unforgettable time. After all, who wants to spend the day in the kitchen when you could be enjoying the party instead? So, Christie and Joe made the smart decision to leave the catering to us.

From the moment Hog Roast Arbroath arrived early to start prepping, Christie and Joe could relax knowing everything was in good hands. We had plenty of time to set up and get everything ready before the guests arrived. Their choice? Our Alfresco Menu – a feast so delicious, it’s always a crowd favorite. The highlight of the meal was a whole pig, slow-roasted to crispy perfection, with crackling that had guests coming back for more. Served alongside sage and onion stuffing, sweet applesauce, and plenty of wraps and rolls, it was the kind of spread that had something for everyone.

We also served a range of seasonal sides, including a fresh heritage tomato and buffalo mozzarella salad, creamy gourmet coleslaw, and buttery new potatoes tossed with chives. To add a touch of sophistication, we brought out a charcuterie platter brimming with Italian deli meats, fine cheeses, and rustic artisanal breads – perfect for grazing while chatting. And for the non-meat eaters, we made sure no one was left out, offering BBQ-pulled jackfruit rolls as a tasty plant-based alternative.

And what’s a celebration without dessert? We wrapped up the meal with indulgent cheesecake and profiteroles, which were gone in a flash.
