Hog Roast Ballingry Isn’t Just Great Food – We’re The Whole Package!

When you’re picking a caterer for an event, the food’s obviously a big part of it – but it’s not the whole picture. You want someone who can cook, sure, but also someone who can roll with the punches, chat to guests, and deal with whatever curveballs the day throws their way.

Hog Roast Ballingry has been in the business for over thirty years – yes, we’re that old. And in that time, we’ve dealt with more hiccups than we can count.

Extreme weather, last-minute menu changes and guest list alterations, client budget constraints, and last, but not least, space.

We’ve worked hard to create a catering set-up that gets the job done without taking up every inch of your venue. We’re also able to set up in some of the most remote locations, making us a true mobile catering service. But sometimes, even Hog Roast Ballingry finds it tricky to work within the space we’ve been given.

Still, you know how we feel about a challenge. We love them!

So, when Celine asked us to cater for her husband Lee’s 50th birthday last month, we were fully on board – even though it was a bit of a tight squeeze for our team.

Our catering manager, Steve, was able to work around the awkward space and unusual set-up and still managed to rustle three different meat options, including Texan 24 hour beef brisket, Cajun-spiced chickens and pulled quarter of minted lamb. We also prepared heritage tomato and buffalo mozzarella salad, seasonal leaves, homemade coleslaw and roasted new potatoes on the side. We even managed to create some colourful charcuterie platters brimming with fine Italian meats, cheeses, breads and dressings.

And yes, despite our limited space, Hog Roast Ballingry didn’t leave out the puds. Every guest was able to enjoy a choice of profiteroles or vacherins of strawberries with passion fruit cream. It was the perfect ending to a delicious meal.

Our efforts paid off and Celine was over the moon with the service, attention to detail and quality of food Hog Roast Ballingry provided. She was even more amazed we were able to do it all in such a small space!
